Steve has an honest, magical quality that allows him to connect with all audiences-- young children, adolescents, high schoolers, adults-- and move them. He is the very first person I think of when I want to engage any group of students about life's challenges and successes. I have called on him multiple times, and he tailors his message beautifully.

Steve Coleman is a public speaker that inspires his audiences by humbly recounting his life story. When you meet Steve, you are initially struck by his energy and positive outlook. As you listen to him, you become drawn in by his genuineness and kindness.

Steve begins by describing his meeting and ultimately winning the affections of his high school sweetheart, Ellie and his audience is reminded of the importance of relationships. He demonstrates that the initial superficial attraction may initiate a relationship, but the beauty within is what maintains a lasting relationship. Without preaching, Steve helps his audience remember that the true meaning in all of our relationships is mutual respect and admiration.

Steve’s high school sports performance seems to be paving the way for a bright future when his vision begins to fail. Your heart will sink as you hear him describe the initial despair that comes with the uncertainty of his future. As Steve adjusts to his vision loss, we are reminded that happiness is a state of mind, not a reflection of circumstance. Rather than focus on what he has lost, Steve focuses on the “good” in his life. He takes full advantage of what his limited vision allows him to do.

In today’s material world of envy and desire for more, Steve Coleman’s life story serves as a gentle, yet powerful, reminder that happiness comes from our appreciation of what we have. His audience cannot help but see that adversity is a part of living, but its effect on you is determined by how you respond to that adversity. Treasuring that which you have, nurturing friendships, and compassion for others will bring you happiness.

My staff looks forward to seeing Steve and hearing his story. His life story does not change, just as the timeless lessons it teaches. Anyone looking for a simple message to inspire them would do well to take few moments and open their mind to Steve’s message.

I have known Steve Coleman for several years, and have heard him speak on many occasions. His message is heartfelt, sincere and personal...and never fails to inspire. Students are mesmerized as he relates his tale, and moved at the conclusion, often lingering to speak with Steve directly. I highly recommend Steve as an inspiration for any age group, and particularly adolescents.

A Steve Coleman presentation provides energy that is infectious!  He has a captivating way that keeps you hanging on his every word.  Steve’s life experiences have taught him many lessons that he openly shares with his audience!  He provides hope for all of us that we can overcome the challenges we face on a daily basis, and our challenges are far less significant than his!

It's a difficult task trying to put together presenters for a convention.  Unless you get a personal recommendation of someone whose opinion you respect, it's a real shot in the dark.  We draw court reporters from throughout New England for our annual convention and "compete" for their attendance with 6 local and one national association.  It's important that we give a professional and thoughtful program not only for the educational value, but to get repeat customers.  This is our only fundraiser and we rely on this event for the Maine Court Reporters Association to survive.

We found Steve Coleman through an internet search looking for a "motivational" speaker.  One of my fellow board members made the initial contact and sent the information on to me.  She wanted to know what I felt after speaking to Steve.  We agreed to give him a shot.  It was one of the best decisions we've made.  Steve showed up at the seminar with a smile on his face and excitement in his body language.  Back and forth across the room telling one inspiring story after another of his life; the highs and lows, and absolute resilience to anything in his way. At the end of his presentation, I was collecting exit cards from the people who attended and everyone had that same smile and excitement.  "Where did you find that guy?"

In one of our first conversations together, Steve asked me what we were hoping for from him.  I wasn't sure how to answer that question, but said we like to end our event with hope and inspiration.  Mission accomplished.  Thanks, Steve.

Having been witness to Steve Coleman’s story numerous times, I have yet to come away from the experience without profound emotion. It never fails. My emotions have varied from a lump in the throat, laughter, and extreme focus to wanting to stand up and cheer at the top of my lungs. To say that Steve’s story is inspiring is an understatement.

Steve Coleman is a must for college audiences, corporate audiences, educational administrators and convention attendees. Don’t miss this opportunity.

I have had the pleasures of both working with Steve and listening to him speak to a large audience.  Both of these experiences involved children.  I believe Steve has the unique ability to be a “life” speaker.  While sharing his life story with others (children & adults) listeners will be inspired, motivated, and realize that some of life’s toughest blows blossom into gifts beyond belief!
